I have had very positive experiences with Dr. Dunn and Dr. Welling. Dr. Dunn feels like he could be my pal. Dr. Welling puts out a great old country Doctor vibe. I would certainly be giving a 5 star rating if my Doctor was the only one I've gotten to deal with. However, when I haven't been able to see him I have had a very negative experience with another doctor there when I was very sick and in and out of the hospital. That rating would had been a 2 at best due to poor care (Thankfully, my doctor came through and saved the day on that one). The receptionist staff are ALWAYS fantastic to deal with! Wouldn't go anywhere else for care. I've always had pretty good experiences with Valley Medical. Sometimes I don't feel as if the front desk staff really books enough time for everything that I need seen for though, which makes it seem like now the doctor has to rush through everything to fit it all in! They've always been pretty good about payment plans, as well, which we really appreciate! Tried to make an appointment here, they told me I had to fill out an application to see if they would accept me. They said it could take 4-6 weeks to review my records and see if they would take me as a patient. I never heard back, called them many times, and finally they just said they're not taking new patients :( My primary care provider, the nurses, and the receptionists have always been very kind, helpful, and friendly to me. I'm giving them a 3 star rating because of their billings department. I had switched insurance companies and then had to have several visits to Valley Medical. No one in billings bothered to tell me that my insurance was barely covering any of my medical bills because Valley Medical wasn't in their preferred provider list. At my last visit, as I was leaving, the receptionist asked me if I wanted to make a payment on my bill. When she told me what my bill was I realized there must be a problem with my insurance. I called my insurance company, but they refused to pay any more even after two appeals letters. I called the billings department at Valley and asked about a payment plan or a reduced rate since I was basically going to have to pay the $3,000+ bill out of pocket. The woman in charge was unkind, rude, and unwilling to even talk to me about a possible payment plan. So, as long as you have lots of money or good insurance you might have a great experience because other than the crusty, unkind, and merciless bill collector everyone else was great.
