A dedicated family business that has weathered many winters and economic down turns. I have done business with Tanner's for many years. The saying goes, you can't please everyone... Bill has been great to work with, going above and beyond to make sure the job is done right. Tanner's has invested a lot in their community and they will continue to receive my support. I'm proud of my Husqvarna lawnmower, bush trimmer and chainsaw and my simplicity snowblower. They always start on the first pull. As did my Evinrude motor. Keep up the great work! Welcome aboard Robert. First the positive, cuz it's a small town. My truck dropped a few cyliinders out of the blue which had me rattled. Tanner's was the nearest place that had an opening and I didn't want to chance driving it around or get it towed. They got me in the next day and quickly figured out that my issue was bad sparkplug wires that were installed too close to the manifold (my fault, I tuned this thing a few years ago). I was relieved and so when asked to go ahead with a tune up I said yes, figuring that this generally simple task was better done in a dry shop by someone else than me with a headlamp in a cold wet Juneau Nov. evening. The vehicle was finished by the end of that day (again, a positive) however, the bill about dropped me to the floor. It was nearly 600 bucks for an hour of diagnostics , parts, and then three hours to do cap, rotor, wires, plugs and a fuel filter. The mechanic told me it was three hours plus billable time to do the tune up, despite the fact I did it within an hour and a half on a Seattle street while drinking beer three years earlier, then has the audacity to tell me he cut me a deal by shaving a third of an hour off from the "book rate". This is not a complex modern vehicle and all parts are fully exposed requiring nothing to be dismantled to replace these parts.... SO, buyer beware if you want anything routine done here, you will get charged the full amount allowed by law and then told you got a "deal". My mistake not to ask for an estimate of what was coming and assumed I'd be charged for what was done, not what the book said to charge for some monkey work. I do this at the risk of small town BS as they surely know who wrote this review but unless my car is on fire, it will not be going to this shop again. Fool me once......
