What a lovely store. Lots of different individual pieces, not like the run of the mill stuff in the other stores in Juneau. My husband fell in love with a Bering watch but we took our time and went for a browse around the other shops. Didn't feel pressured at all by the sales staff. Returned later to purchase the item and still love it today. Great store, good prices and large selection of pieces to choose from. Friendly staff and welcoming experience. Would not hesitate to recommend this store to others visiting Juneau on their cruise. Great locally-owned shop. My parents had a custom-designed anniversary ring made up a couple of years ago when they were in town visiting for the summer. They have been very happy with Tony's work. I also recently had a ring sized for my daughter. Again, Tony did a great job. The staff has always been very helpful and kind. I recommend The Jewel Box to all of our out-of-town guests who ask. I have been into the Jewel Box twice now and both experiences were very enjoyable. They fixed both my watch and my husband's watch. The employees were kind and I was treated with respect. I would certainly go there again in the future. They did a wonderful job taking my grandmother's ring and refurbishing it and resetting and cleaning the stones. It was a lovely gift from her when she passed away and the Jewel Box made a difficult time a special time, with their care and detail. Many many thanks. I took a pinky ring in to be sized down. No stones in ring, no wear on shank (hadn't ever been worn), 14k. They were going to charge me $50 because they said it was their minimum. I walked out. I talked to a woman in a dress shop nearby. She took a ring in to be cleaned and they charged her $50. Neither of us will be back. I had planned on having some custom work done for a good nugget watch as well as taking in several other pieces for repair. After hearing the cost to downsize a ring I will be taking my business elsewhere. I believe in doing business locally- but not at greatly inflated prices. Very disappointing. I already made another appointment with a jeweler with a great reputation at half the cost.
