That's cool! Used to hike nearby to a spot overlooking Mendenhall Valley using part of West glacier trail. Great place to eat lunch. The retreat of the glacier has really accelerated over the last decade. Awesome hike! Keep going on West Glacier Trail until there's a really clear sign indicating that the ice caves are going off trail, but, even then, it's well-marked and easy to do for anyone relatively fit.
