Weekday Happy Hour 2-4pm $1 off their tacos. Ordered taco pastor minus raw onions minus cilantro. The tacos pastor arrived looked pretty plain, seasonings and spices didn't enhance my palate. Flavor was lacking, pork wasn't marinated to degree where I would enjoy it's flavor. Pork could be more moist, succulent. Not impressed. Well it was a nice place and the service was decent, however, the salmon tacos were very dry and incredibly over spiced. I'm comparing this to other authentic places mostly in southern California and Baja California, Mexico. My partner had a chicken torta and it was decent from the few bites he shared. Something different and a little off the beaten path. The salmon chorizo was delicious. A nice quiet place if you need to escape rain/tourist spots for a little while. Not the best experience.. Very slight order to-go (2 tacos and a tostada)... After about 15 minutes of waiting I went inside and waited in line to ask about my order (as I was watching people who were originally behind me in line sitting down eating already). I was told it would be ready soon. Another five minutes go by and at that point we are getting antsy as it's 75 degrees out and we just wanted to get a quick couple of tacos.. I politely asked the same lady if there was a problem with our order as we had only order a couple of very basic menu items. In comes the two star review: I was told with extreme tone that "this isn't taco bell" ... It had been probably 20 minutes of waiting at that point and i was just making sure our order hadn't been accidentally skipped... this isn't exactly fine, sit-down, Mexican cuisine, either. Food was OK but the service ended up being poor as I felt like asking for my money back right on the spot and walking across the street to the teriyaki food stand we should have given our money to in the first place. Finally received our food after roughly 20 minutes, crossed the street, and sat down at marine park and had a decent lunch. Had the food been melt-in-your-mouth good, I might have been able to stand the sassy waitress who apparently was offended by the fact that we wanted to get a couple of quick tacos and sit in the sun.. That's fine if it isn't fast service, no need to get sarcastic about it.. left a sour taste in my mouth. Discussed with wife and we will not be eating at this place ever again simply due to the tone from the waitress after politely asking a simple question. This place looks good and their tortilla chips and guacamole are amazing theyr flavor is great however for the price the serving of food is too small.
