I recently stayed in this B&B with a friend over the July 4th weekend. We had a room with a twin and full-size bed. The B&B appears to be converted from some 1980s era apartments and is located on the 2nd floor over a convenience and liquor store (they have the same owners). You check-in and pay in the convenience store downstairs. The 2 different people that we spoke with in the convenience store only knew how to take payment and give us the keys -- they knew nothing about the B&B and were unable to answer any questions about it. Someone did come into the room for maid service everyday while we were gone, but otherwise, there is no one around to provide customer service or answer questions. There is a phone # for the B&B, but when we tried to call, we got a message stating that the # was directed to the fax machine at that time and we should call back later. The room was very basic and definitely outdated. It had a small kitchenette with a mini fridge, an odd assortment of dishes, a small sink, 2 stove burners, and an old microwave. There was also a small dinette table with 2 chairs, a dresser, and a TV with basic cable. The private bathroom was basic with a shower/tub. The bedding on the 2 beds was worn and didn't match, and the sheets had some small holes in them. That said, the room was kept very clean, and I have no complaints there. It was also very convenient to downtown - a 5-10 min walk to any shop or restaurant downtown. It was also only a 5 min walk to the water's edge, which was convenient for us to board the Tracy Arm day cruise we went on. Since we didn't have a car while there, the central location was really important. The room was pretty quiet, and we slept reasonably well. For breakfast, oatmeal packets, cereal, milk, and coffee items were kept in the room. You also had a coupon good for a free bottle of fruit juice or piece of fruit and a pastry/muffin from the convenience store downstairs. If going again, I would probably try to find somewhere different. For a place to sleep, it was okay, but it's not really a hotel room that you want to hang out in. However, if you just want a clean, basic room with a downtown location for a reasonable price, this would be just fine. This property is right downtown. While it's over a Liquor Store/Deli it's quiet and the are advantages to the store below [someone is always there when the store is open; there's lots of goodies available]. The room had all the amenities.
